my computer says i have a security problem then i found trojan & spyware. how can i remove this? is there an online version cause it takes a while to download?

Antivirus from bt Yahoo does not install, I have removed my McCafee AV, Cleaned the registry, I have XP Pro?

I was trying out McCafee Anti-Virus software, but saw BT Yahoo free software by Computer Associates, I removed the McCafee Virus software and tried to load your CA software but nothing happens! (The anti spy works & Mail Protection) I have clean my registry with PC tools and restarted my PC a number of times I have downloaded the Software form the site Numerous times But the soft ware still says "Install now" I would be most pleased to here what I am doing wrong? Just to inform you I have worked with computers for over twenty years. Therefore, I’m not a novice; you don’t have to be gentle with me. I have Zone alarms firewall install and am running XP pro (Pack 2)

What is the best download utility to buy, to clean/repair and protect my Registry?

A Registry Mechanic (installed on my Desktop) scan showed 24 shared DLL’s, 75 Temporary/Shortcut and 14 Deep Scan problems/errors. Unfortunately, I’m not a computer nerd and so, I don’t know what all that stuff means. I haven’t purchased it (Registry Mechanic/PC Tools), yet. I don’t know what a computer "registry" is.

I’m also receiving prompts telling me I have both application and stop (and some other type of error I don’t remember) errors.

My computer’s security programs consist of the following freeware: Ad-Aware SE Personal; Spybot Search & Destroy, and SpywareBlaster for malware/anti-spyware purposes; and for a firewall, ZoneAlarm.

I have an unpurchased/not registered Spy Sweeper (Webroot) on my Desktop which I use for scan purposes.

My only registered/purchased (anti-virus) program is AVG Professional, from Czechoslovakia, and I’m in the last year of their two-year program. I have no big complaints about them. If there’s a better one, I’m not aware of it

someone gave me good information (pietzj) he recommended Eusing Registry Cleaner & free but found out its not. So does anyone know of a site where there is one that is totally FREE that I dont have to pay for it. I have spybot adaware all for free so why is’nt there a FREE registry clean up too. Can anyone help me with this please

i believe windows defender is real because i think it came with my computer and i searched on the web which ones are real, and this one i have was one of them.

Whats the EASIEST "user-friendly" Registry Cleaner (free preferably) out there?

I need a easy one too, please! I’m on my 2nd computer & would like to be able to keep the registry keys cleaned out so that my new one stays up to speed. I tried RegScrubXP & removed what they recommended but then was unable to bring up my msn or Yahoo mailbox. So I just restored to the day before & that fixed it but I don’t know if doing that moved all the registry keys back?? Thanks!!!"

I dll & installed "Registry Easy" & want to know how I should choose whether or not to optomize my system?

I nearly went BLIND (eyes burning and neaaarly went cross-eyed) reading the definitions of each thing I waas "ticking". Like one thing that made me back out and close the scan was ‘the gloved-like hand would be stopped in IE and in My Documents. Well, I don’t use IE at all, but I do use My Documents. Computer Geeks….HELP. Is this program something I should REMOVE?…I was told to install it, but now that I have, I’m doubting it MAJORLY. In the lst place, when I choose to ‘back up & not change anything…it defaults to ‘Register Now’….which would mean I need to plunk down to …just to spend HOURS trying to choose which items I should keep or not keep. HELP.

i know that"s a vague question but i don"t know how to put it> you"ll have to excuse my grammar skills> my laptop which i have owned for one year is bugging out on me> i can no longer capitalize< punctuate (eg make apostrophes or commas) and the numbers will not work instead they appear as: !@#$%^&*() also the computer will not allow me to use the commands for copying or pasting> the only reason i can think why this is happening is that before i turned my computer off today i was given an alert that my firewall was off but then it was too late for me to bother about it as the computer was shutting down (normally)>
