I know I need to do a system registry cleanup, but after scanning I just don’t know what to get rid of and what to keep. I do use the CCleaner to clean the C drive to get rid of temp files and everything else I visited. And I use the XoftSpySE to help me out also.

My computer is acting very slow. Is a registry clean-up a good thing after using the CCleaner and the XoftSpySE?

10 points for best answer and SERIOUS ANSWERS too please.

I really need some great advice on this as I never ever done a registry cleanup before.

I am running Kapersky AntiVirus at this time since it was a 30 day free trial and I could have them scan and fix "computer to computer". My computer is now considerably more stable, but I still have 2 bogus "security alert" pop-ups, and I cannot run the EXE files.

Remember**** I can’t download CCleaner, or anything else in order to fix it. Please help!

Glary Utilies found 81 registry keys, and have a simple undo wizard. EasyCleaner by ToniArt is in 2nd place for finding 46 registry keys which are invalid. It is also very easy to undo changes with the Easy Cleaner. Windows Regedit is a good tool to use when all the registry cleaners listed above can’t clean an invalid key because it is locked or could not find it.
