I formerly had PC Tools’ Spyware Doctor and Registry Mechanic, but the license has expired on those two and they no longer offer a discount price for getting both programs.

Can you steer me towards something equally good that I should look into getting? I’m looking for protection from spyware, malware, etc.

I’m not locked into getting a Registry cleaner, but would like to.

BTW, I use AVG’s updated free version, so I feel I’m covered on the anti-virus front.

Any useful suggestions very much appreciated. Thanks.

It locks up,freezes up,recovers tabs and closes.I have ran pc tools antivirus and spy doctor and nothing comes up.I also use pc tools registry cleaner and have 2 errors in internet explorer that will not correct.I have tried reloading internet explorer and it doesnt do any good.If I completely delete internet explorer and use google chrome will it get rid of the problem or is there a virus now in my computer?Thanks for the help.I am new with computers and dont know that much about them.

firewall) Also what other programs can I keep? I have IObit advanced system care 3, PC tools registry mechanic (starts when you start the computer) CCleaner and web of trust. The only 2 I think run all the time are Kaspersky and PC tools registry cleaner. Right now I have windows defender off. I have tried reading forums but can’t seem to find the answers. I have no clue on how Kaspersky works but it seems confusing. I wish there was a warning or list that would tell me if i can have these other programs. It did warn me not to load malware bites???
I noticed a whole bunch of other programs the I still have on my computer. How do I know what I NEED to keep?
also what other maintainence/security programs are ok? Is there a website that tells you what programs are compatable?

Ive worked on it for days now. I did all the normal things like buying pc tools, malware, and deleting the registry and processes. I even did a search and deleted it from there. Still when I go on the internet this dam yellow bar appears " Your computer is a risk click AV Green" OMG!

I installed PC Tools Registry Mechanic on my Dad’s computer and now the tray in the lower right is not full. Also Windows Media player will not work because there is no sound device. Is the software, ie registry Mechanic doing it or is my Dad’s computer failing. Also, I installed Windows Live Toolbar, but it will not show. Yes, I checked in the toolbars under the view tab.
