I formerly had PC Tools’ Spyware Doctor and Registry Mechanic, but the license has expired on those two and they no longer offer a discount price for getting both programs.

Can you steer me towards something equally good that I should look into getting? I’m looking for protection from spyware, malware, etc.

I’m not locked into getting a Registry cleaner, but would like to.

BTW, I use AVG’s updated free version, so I feel I’m covered on the anti-virus front.

Any useful suggestions very much appreciated. Thanks.

i kno that the computers registry is the most fragile thing on your computer(or so im told i dont kno if that is really tru or not but thats what ive heard)
first question is this safe to use:

second question if this is safe will i be able to download things again it hasnt been letting me download anything i googled it and it said it might be the registry

last question is the registry really the most fragile thing on the computer

firewall) Also what other programs can I keep? I have IObit advanced system care 3, PC tools registry mechanic (starts when you start the computer) CCleaner and web of trust. The only 2 I think run all the time are Kaspersky and PC tools registry cleaner. Right now I have windows defender off. I have tried reading forums but can’t seem to find the answers. I have no clue on how Kaspersky works but it seems confusing. I wish there was a warning or list that would tell me if i can have these other programs. It did warn me not to load malware bites???
I noticed a whole bunch of other programs the I still have on my computer. How do I know what I NEED to keep?
also what other maintainence/security programs are ok? Is there a website that tells you what programs are compatable?

I have used CCleaner, Regcure, Registry Mechanic, Windows Power Tools, Windows Cleanup…but none of these really seems to boost the speed like they said they would.
So is their anything else I can use?

I installed PC Tools Registry Mechanic on my Dad’s computer and now the tray in the lower right is not full. Also Windows Media player will not work because there is no sound device. Is the software, ie registry Mechanic doing it or is my Dad’s computer failing. Also, I installed Windows Live Toolbar, but it will not show. Yes, I checked in the toolbars under the view tab.

Hi
I just had to clean up my pc from Trojan, Vundo, Wildtangent and a whole mess of things. I dont know how it got pass my AVG Internet Security – but i cant trust using it anymore. So Im wondering whats better out there?<<<<
btw I used PC tools: Registry Mechanic and Spyware doctor.
Please help!

When I download ccleaner it downloads as pc tools registry mechanic is that supposed to happen?

Okay, so Pc tools got their Registry Mechanic app thing on my computer.
But i did not download, nor did anyone else.
So i pressed home page, and am now currently talking to a manager,
But they do not know how it got on,
so they are asking a bunch of questions.
so i just would like to know, is the buisness legit or no ?
